Carnaval de Barranco

I moved to the tiny, bohemian district of Barranco on March 5th of this year.

The following day, I was greeted by hundreds of painted Peruvians wandering the streets of my neighborhood armed with water balloons, buckets, and bottles of cerveza, ready to celebrate the annual Carnaval de Barranco:
